Avalon Basic becomes Avalon Navigation in 2025

Avalon Basic was launched in early 2024 as an evaluation version of Avalon Offshore. We have decided to rename it to “Avalon Navigation” in Q1 2025.

The product remains free to allow new users to test Avalon routing, with limited features, like Avalon Basic. However, it will include all the navigation functions of Avalon Offshore and can therefore be used as an extremely complete navigation tool:

  • Route tracking and instrument display
  • NMEA connection, AIS collision alarms
  • Various alarms, including the “shallow water at x nautical miles ahead!”
  • Anchorage alarm
  • Displaying navigation indicators in augmented reality glasses
  • Acquisition of (polar) performance data at sea
  • Optional: Avalon packs of maps (see above). Only Avalon mapping will be compatible with this product.
  • Optional: Regatta optimization (start, laylines, tack time, etc.)

optimization (start, laylines, tack time, etc.)

Avalon prices in 2025 (including taxes)

  • Avalon Offshore: €80 (lifetime) from January 1st. In accordance with our culture, versions purchased since 2015 will remain compatible and will not undergo any increase
  • Avalon Navigation: Free
  • Premium Weather Subscription: €35 for 1 year
  • Nautical Maps: From €15 to €45 for one year (to be confirmed)
  • Race and multi scenarios option: €10 for 1 year, €20 for 3 years
